COVID-19 Information and Resources

The following content is intended to help students, faculty, and staff have quick access to essential information and resources related to COVID-19. While there are several locations that members of the Rowan University community can utilize as resources, this site will focus upon sharing general information, specific policies, and mechanisms for sharing ideas, suggestions, and concerns.

It is a violation of Rowan University policy if a student is found responsible for “engaging in disruptive activity which substantially disrupts or poses a tenable threat of disrupting teaching, research, administration, disciplinary procedures, public service functions, or other University-authorized activities, or which substantially interferes with the rights of others, on University premises…” (Rowan University Student Code of Conduct)

Effective immediately, students (as well as faculty and staff) are required to wear face coverings at all times while in public. This includes, but is not limited to, building interiors (with the exception of offices where privacy can be maintained), classrooms, common areas of residential facilities, and wherever physical/social distancing is not possible.

Rowan University defines a Face Covering as: An instrument of health-related prevention made of cloth (or approved/distributed by authorized University Officials), intended to limit the spread of germs/fluids, and worn in a secure manner that entirely covers the nose and mouth.

Classroom Expectations:

  • Student are expected to adhere to seating restrictions and physical/social distancing standards while attending in-person class sessions.
  • Students must wear face coverings for in-person class sessions.
  • Students with needs for accommodations are encouraged to complete a Mask Policy Accommodation Request. (Note, an accommodation will not exempt a student from the requirement to wear a face covering during in-person classes.)
  • Students who do not have access to a mask during an in-person class session should ask the faculty member for assistance.
  • Students who refuse to wear a face covering during in-person classes will be asked to leave the classroom immediately and referred to the Dean of Students' Office for follow-up.

Reporting Concerns:

The health, safety, and overall well-being of students, faculty, and staff are paramount to Rowan University. As a result, we encourage all members of the Rowan community to share their COVID-related questions, concerns, suggestions, and reports of potential violations via our On-Line Report.
