Dr. Eric Clark: Passion, Purpose with a Plan

If It Had Not Been For Him

Dr. Eric Clark's passionate journey began at Tufts University in 1967. He began his humanitarian efforts while volunteering for Upward Bound in college, and joining the Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) upon graduation. The seed for his life's purpose was planted. He went on to receive a Master's Degree from Martin Luther King School of Social Change and PhD from the University of Delaware.

Dr. Clark bought his passion for human service to Rowan University as an administrator for the Educational Opportunity Fund. He worked tirelessly on the plan that would bring Rowan   University to the City of Camden. While for filling one passionate purpose he worked on another. In 1985, he founded C.H.A.M.P; Creating Higher Aspirations and Motivations Project which counseled Camden youths along their academic and socioeconomic road to college. CHAMP started as a small, volunteer counseling service that involved 100 Camden High School seniors and now serves students from sixth through twelfth grades across Camden City.

CHAMP was his plan born out of his deep passion for helping others obtain what was viewed as unobtainable. Now his name continues to be added to every student's life page that participates in the C.H.A.M.P. Program.

Presently, Winona Wigfall, Director, and the CHAMP staff, are continuing Dr. Eric Clark's, Passion and Purpose with a Plan. See success in all even when they can't see it for themselves.
