Providing an open, new space on the first floor for the Rowan University Art Gallery and classroom and lab space above, 301 West High Street opens. It also serves as the new home for the Department of Public Relations & Advertising within the College of Communication & Creative Arts.
Rowan University Art Gallery's first show focuses on part of Rowan’s permanent collection, Selections from The Sister Chapel, a series of large, 9’ x 5’ paintings, representing the women’s art movement from the 1970s. Works include larger-than-life depictions of women from history and mythology including politician Bella Abzug, artist Frida Kahlo and women’s rights activist Betty Friedan.
