Board of Trustees Chair Keith Campbell and his wife, Shirley, give to support the new library. Students take to the library's new name, referring to it as "Keith and Shirley's." Ann Campbell, Keith's mother, donates in honor of her late husband to establish the John B. Campbell Professorial Chair in the College of Business. The Campbell gifts total $2.5 million and further, demonstrate private donors' confidence in the university.
