Campus School opened in 1954 as a result of President Robinson's agreement with the Glassboro Board of Education to provide a new facility suitable to meet the demands of the growing campus and its host community. The new building served the college as its demonstration school and provided the borough with a new elementary school. It opened with 265 students and 12 teachers.
