  • This internship is for the DC office and working in-person is preferred.

 

  • However, if an intern cannot afford to be in DC, or has concerns about in-person office work, the Congressman’s office will allow the intern to work remotely. Thus , you can be in NJ and still get this internship working with the Washington, DC office.

 

Dates / Length of Summer Internship June 1 – August 6                               

Required Hours/Week  40/10 weeks

 

Is there some type of salary or stipend?  Yes                                        

If so, how much? $800/month

Internship is open to current undergraduate students and recent graduates. Interested applicants should apply through our website (kim.house.gov), underneath the “Constituent Services” tab. Application deadline is March 28th. 

 

Intern work areas:           Clerical X             Research X          Errands X             Organizing X

 

Please explain the work that will be required of the intern:  Interns will assist staff members with administrative, legislative and communications work. Typical intern duties include answering constituent calls, scheduling tours, writing press clips, drafting letters, sorting mail, and assisting Congressman’s staff on research and legislation.

 

Will there be opportunities for the intern to observe:

 

Internal strategy sessions? X       Legislative sessions?  X      Committee hearings?  X

 

Is the intern expected to work evenings and weekends?  If so, please explain.  Interns will only be working Monday through Fridays, 9am to 5pm.
