Job Summary

 

Assists the Human Resources Deparment with a variety of HR duties and functions.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enters employee data into the HRIS system; offer letters, Caliper assessment results, change forms, PERS Enrollment, etc.
  • Organizes, uploads, and scans Year-End Reviews into HRIS system.
  • Tracks development items from year-end reviews.
  • Conducts audits on pre-hire documentation, job description evaluations/spreadsheets, Payroll, Workers Compensation files, Health & Vision enrollment forms and grade levels in GP and weekly reports.
  • Assists Human Resources Officer with pre-hire duties such as reference checks, interviews, background screenings, degree verifications, etc. Ensures all documentation is scanned properly into HRIS system.
  • Assures correct job description is attached to the employee in GP.
  • Coordinates HR offsite storage, retrieval, and destruction of boxes with the guidance of the Internal Process Management department.
  • Updates HR Webpages: including, but not limited to Career Portal, ADP, and Sharpoint.
  • Updates 2019 Holiday Calendar in timecard database, payroll calendar, etc...
  • Merges duplicate candidate profiles in applicant tracking system.
  • Researches charitable events for department participation, suggests themes for Employee Winter Retreat, and Take Your Child To Work Day events.
  • Promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative, and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff, and external customers.
  • Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.

  • Ability to work and develop spreadsheets
  • Must be able to enter data with exceptional accuracy
  • Ability to analyze data
  • Intuitive, takes initiative, and is creative
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; proficient in grammar, spelling and editing; and foster communications with business professionals and EDA staff
  • Ability to prioritize workload, must be highly organized, detail-oriented, handle various tasks simultaneously and work independently within limited time constrains with little or no supervision
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and deal effectively and diplomatically with business professionals and EDA staff
  • Demonstrates respectful behavior and promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff and external customers. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software packages

 

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Student in Bachelors degree program in Human Resources or Business Administration.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.

 

Physical Demands

  • Minimal

 

Travel

  • As necessary to events, meetings, businesses, etc.

 

Certificates and Licenses Required

  • Valid driver’s license
