Is there some type of salary or stipend?  Yes If so, how much? Possible $75 per week & Commute mileage and lunch when in the office.

 

What is the application process?  (Please include deadlines & other requirements.  Feel free to attach additional pages)

 

Send resume and areas of interest including study major and minor.  In person interview via virtual link or social distant meeting in office.  Include any political volunteer experience if any.  Any papers submitted for class credit will be appreciated.  Interests in energy, alternate/renewable energy, transportation, food science and food marketplace, and U.S. History a plus. Understanding of legislative process also a plus.

Please explain the work that will be required of the intern:  Census of both members and non –members in gasoline retail, convenience store, and automotive small businesses.  Determine issues of importance to members. Track and study legislation affecting members.  Participate in virtual meetings with legislators, or possible in office meetings depending on COVID status.  Monitor legislative committee hearings.

Eager to observe, and learn the industries our members are engaged in and the effects of government.  Willing to work as if they are showcasing themselves for any potential openings on the staff after graduation.  Virtually every staff member here began as an intern either learning from me here, or another mentor in another capacity.
