Please explain the work that will be required of the intern:
Interns would be required to assist with tasks relating to policy research, writing, and administrative work. We are looking for someone with strong writing skills, an interest in legislative affairs and policy and strong organizational skills. Assingments would include attending legislative sessions and hearings in the NJ State House, legislative bill research and review, advocacy and communications/media projects, adminstrative office projects and other duties as needed. Interns would also be afforded the opportunity to join the team at political networking events across the State.
Will there be opportunities for the intern to observe:
Internal strategy sessions? X Legislative sessions? X Committee hearings? X
Is the intern expected to work evenings and weekends? If so, please explain.
Yes. only to attend optional political networking events with team.
What are your current COVID-19 workplace requirements? (We recognize that these can change at any moment.)
None. At the time we are mostly working remotely with some meetings occurring in person.

We are looking for someone with strong writing skills, an interest in legislative affairs and policy and strong organizational skills. Having a desire to work in governmental affairs and make a difference to residents in communities across NEw Jersey is a plus. Preferred applicants should be pursuinga degree in political science, economics, public health, government affairs, advocacy, or a degree that similarly aligns with issue areas.
