 All interested applicants should email the internship co-ordinator with their completed internship application and a copy of their resume. Upon receipt and depending on the availability of internship positions, an interview with the intern coordinator will be setup. During the interview, the intern coordinator will discuss the internship duration and  requirements. Acceptance into the internship program will be determined following the internship process.  We ask that any interested students reach out no later than April to schedule an interview.

Please explain the work that will be required of the intern: 

 Interns will assist the members and staff with the various daily functions perfomred by a district office which include but are not limited to policy research, data entry, updating office databases, constituent outreach, and district communications. Interns will also have the opportunity to observe and staff members during legislative committees and voting sessions.

 

Will there be opportunities for the intern to observe:

 

       Internal strategy sessions?   X    Legislative sessions?  X       Committee hearings? X

 

Is the intern expected to work evenings and weekends?  If so, please explain. 

 No, but interns may be offered opportunities to participate in community events that may take place on nights oir weekends. Participation in these events are optional and will be presented to the intern as they arise.

 

What are your current COVID-19 workplace requirements?  (We recognize that these can change at any moment.)

 To protect the health of interns and staff, and our office requires COVID-19 vaccinations as a condition for all in-person internships. Limited virtual internships may be available if requested. Additionally, we require masking in all congregate settings. Masks are not required when working on isolation in your workspace. Any employee or intern who is feeling unwell is expected to communicate with their manager to derermine it they should come into the office.
