What is the application process? Applicants must initially submit a resume and cover letter. After which, they must be interviewed and be able to pass a drug test.
Intern work areas:
✔ Clerical ✔ Research ✔ Errands ✔ Organizing
Please explain the work that will be required of the intern:
Interns can be expected to help with ongoing governmental projects, staffing at events, attending meetings, scheduling, drafting correspondence, research, social media management and marching at parades.
Will there be opportunities for the intern to observe:
✔ Strategy sessions? ✔ Legislative sessions? ✔ Committee Hearings?
Is the intern expected to work evenings and weekends? ✔ Yes No
If yes, please explain.
Yes. At least every other Wednesday there is a legislative meeting in the evening. Many events and opportunities to meet members of the community are in the evening and weekends. Additionally, interns must be available for parades on Memorial Day and Independence Day.

Prior governmental experience is by no means required. Ask questions, be yourself, and come in open minded.
