Qualified candidates will have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a desire to support our candidates and take part in the political process at the state and local levels. Prior experience is not required. Candidates will be accepted on a rolling basis. Applications should include a brief statement of interest and a resume. Submit applications here.

Please explain the work that will be required of the intern: 

The Dawn Addiego for Senate, Natale & Eckel for Assembly campaign is seeking passionate students, ready to join the fight for a fair tax plan for NJ's middle class, affordable healthcare, women's rights and improving access to education. Interns will be on the front lines, assisting with the management of the campaign and mobilizing voters in preparation for the November 2nd election in New Jersey's 8th legislative district--a competitive 2021 race.

Interns will work alongside our skilled team of campaign operatives to plan and execute an ambitious program. Interns will gain first-hand experience in campaign communication, finance, event management and organizing, and play a vital role in our politics at the state and local levels.

Responsibilities Include

  • Empowering communities to make political change
  • Monitoring events in district and drafting Op-Eds and letters to the editor
  • Brainstorming and enacting creative plans to contact and mobilize voters
  • Recruiting, training and managing volunteers to expand our political reach and operation
  • Identifying and persuading voters to support our progressive candidates and causes
  • Managing and executing phone banks, canvasses, and other voter contact efforts
  • Learning to use our voter database system—utilized by every Democratic campaign across the country
  • Planning and staffing the candidates at events across the district

Will there be opportunities for the intern to observe:

 

Internal strategy sessions?       Legislative sessions?            Committee hearings?
