Nominations Instructions for The Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award

Award: $4,000

Nomination Deadline: January 1, 2019

The Faculty Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning is pleased to announce the annual call for nominations for the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award.

As an institution dedicated to excellence in teaching and learning, Rowan joins with the Office of the Provost and the Lindback Foundation to honor one permanent faculty member with an outstanding record of teaching and a sustained record of commitment to student learning.


Glassboro Campus tenure-track faculty who have at least five (5) years of service. No recipient will receive the award more than once.

Excellence in teaching includes:

  • student engagement
  • reflective practice
  • developing learning activities
  • developing as a teacher
  • methods of assessment
  • advising or mentoring students

Nomination Process

  • Students, faculty, staff, and administrators may nominate. 
  • Faculty members may self-nominate.
  • Nomination letters should address the criteria stated above and explain why the nominee is qualified for the award.

Review Process

  • All nominees will be notified and will receive details about the materials required to complete a Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award application.
  • The selection committee consists of members of the Faculty Center Advisory Board and previous Lindback winner.
