New Employee Orientation

New Employee Orientation

Welcome!

Welcome to Rowan University! Human Resources hosts a New Employee Orientation (NEO) program to assist new employees with successfully acclimating to the University. The NEO program consists of two parts: the live, in-person session and the training requirements to be completed within 30 days of attending the live session. Our program focuses on providing the necessary information to allow new employees to effectively transition to their new roles and the Rowan community.

NEO Part One: Live In-Person Session

NEO is held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month (with the exception of holidays) for new employees of Rowan University. Orientation begins with a 2.5 hour live, in-person session (9am to 11:30am) that covers Rowan's history, present, and future, as well as the university's mission. Employees will also participate in discussions about required trainings, employee perks, and health and pension benefits offered through the State of NJ. Attendees will meet other new employees and learn how their roles fit into the campus community.

Human Resources will send an email invitation to invite new employees to NEO, typically during their first two weeks of employment. If you have not received an invitation, would like to register an employee, or have questions about NEO, please contact the Training & Development team at hrtraining@rowan.edu.

NEO Part Two: Training Requirements

Part Two of NEO consists of several training requirements that employees must complete within 30 days of attending their in-person session. The required trainings are listed below:

  1. Acknowledgement of Receipt of Policies and Training
  2. Code of Ethics certification
  3. New Jersey State Ethics Training
  4. FERPA training
  5. Policy Prohibiting Discrimination in the Workplace and Educational Environment Training
  6. Getting Paid - Online Payroll Training
  7. Right to Know - Hazard Communication Standard Training
