Each year, it is Rowan University's honor to welcome thousands of graduates to celebrate with their loved ones and our academic community during the Commencement festivities.

The School of Graduate Studies Hooding Recognition Ceremony & Reception, for Ed.D., Ed.S. and Ph.D. graduates, will be held Friday, May 3, 2024 at 2 p.m. During this ceremony, graduates will come to the stage accompanied by their dissertation advisor or selected faculty member to be hooded.  Following the ceremony, graduates and guests are invited to a reception. Each graduate receives 4 guest tickets. 

The University Commencement Ceremony & Celebration will take place *Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in Richard Wackar Stadium. This event features President Houshmand’s address, the conferral of degrees, messages from Commencement speakers, and exciting surprises - followed by a celebration with complimentary light bites, celebratory music, photo opportunities, and a beer and wine garden (for a fee). All graduates across colleges, schools, and degree levels are invited to attend. The event is ticketed, and each graduate will receive 6 guest tickets. Registration is required. A first come, first served ticket distribution to graduates will be available after the registration period is over, until all tickets are redeemed.  (*If extreme weather causes this ceremony to be postponed, the ceremony will take place Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. The celebration will follow the rescheduled ceremony.)

The College Commencement ceremonies are scheduled for **Monday, May 6 – Thursday, May 9, 2024 under a tent on the University Green at Bunce Hall.  At these events, each graduate will cross the stage, have their name read aloud and appear on the screens in the tent, as well as, on the live stream. This is a ticketed event and your guest tickets will be available to claim in Marching Order after completing registration. ( ** In the case of extreme weather, each affected ceremony would move to Esbjornson Gymnasium at the same date and time of the original ceremony.)

Commencement is a time for celebration in honor of the achievements of each of our graduates.  In order to ensure that every individual has the opportunity to be formally recognized by their Rowan community, friends, and families, we require that graduates refrain from bringing additional parties with them as they walk across the stage to receive their diploma folder (i.e., no children, babies, or other loved ones; no pets). If you require the assistance of a personal attendant or service animal in walking across the stage, please email commencement@rowan.edu in advance of commencement.

Graduates should refrain from carrying cell phones or other electronic devices across the stage.  The use of personal drones is likewise prohibited during commencement.  We look forward to celebrating with our graduates!
